Dr. Scharf has been part of Project TEACH as a faculty member and site leader since its inception in 2010 and currently serves as Executive Director.
Dr. Scharf completed medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo and Residency training in Psychiatry and Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Rochester, where he continued on as faculty since completing training in 2003. He is currently the Mark and Maureen Davitt Distinguished Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Psychiatrist-in-Chief at University of Rochester Golisano Children’s. He leads the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as Associate Chair of Psychiatry for Children and Youth, overseeing all child mental health clinical services and programs across the UR Medicine enterprise. He is also a founding member of the Rochester Youth Violence Partnership, a hospital-based violence intervention program.
Dr. Scharf is dedicated to ensuring access to quality mental health care for all children and families who need it.
