Elise Derevjanik is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC-D) with advanced certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) and more than 15 years of experience across diverse clinical settings. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to expanding access to high-quality mental health care and supporting individuals, families, and professionals during the perinatal period.
In addition to her role at Project TEACH, Elise is the founder and owner of Becoming Mental Health Counseling, a private psychotherapy practice dedicated to supporting individuals and families through the journey of family building, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. Elise has been an active leader in the perinatal mental health community. She is a founding board member and former Secretary of the New York Chapter of Postpartum Support International and continues to volunteer with the chapter. Through these leadership roles, she has helped advance statewide efforts to increase education, advocacy, and access to perinatal mental health resources for families and providers.
As Perinatal Liaison Coordinator at Project TEACH, Elise collaborates with healthcare providers, community organizations, and behavioral health professionals to strengthen perinatal mental health care through education, consultation, and resource coordination. She is passionate about increasing awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, reducing barriers to care, improving equity, and empowering providers to confidently identify, support, and connect patients with appropriate mental health services.
