Dr. Malcolm is the Director of Infant and Early Childhood Initiatives for the Child and Adolescent Division in the UR Medicine Department of Psychiatry and the clinical coordinator for the integrated behavioral health team through Golisano Children’s Hospital Pediatric Practice. She specializes in evaluation, treatment and consultation with children (including preschoolers),
adolescents, and their families. She integrates a cognitive-behavioral orientation with aspects of systems and developmental theories. She has many interests that fall into broad categories related to integrated primary care and school settings, early childhood mental health, and work with adults on behalf of children. She has a particular interest in reflective practice as a tool
for professional development, to improve attachment relationships, and to decrease burnout and vicarious trauma. She is also a certified lactation counselor and an endorsed professional through the New York State Association of Infant Mental Health.
An additional passion of Dr. Malcolm’s is community engagement, literacy, and creative expression. She uses her free time to promote reading and volunteer with non-profit agencies in various ways.
